Languages

Being in a mostly non-English speaking country forces you to learn to communicate in other ways. We tease my mom because when shes around foreign speaking people, she enunciates each word, every letter. Its very cute. I find myself imitating the body language. It made me realize how much goes into communicating. Its more than just words. I'm constantly making a silly fool out of myself trying to be funny but no one will get it because its cultural and I'm not that funny. It's like trying to watch a sitcom in another country; you don't understand all of it because you don't understand all the history behind the joke.

Yesterday went like this:

-Amazing shmorgishborg breakfast. I should have taken pictures.
-Visiting Lynn's parents house
-Lunch at Pappa Rich
-Butterfly Garden
-Camera battery runs out
-Little India, where Lynn's sister and I got payals for out ankles.
-Dad bought south Indian food
-Back at the hotel we ate standing up before mom passed out.
-Dad and I went to the mall that is right next to our hotel to buy myself a business suit for today. We also went shoe shopping.
-We got back to the hotel and had a mock-tale and played some pool.
-Bedtime!

Now its time for breakfast again. I am so excited to eat. Today we are going to visit the Twin Towers. We have to dress up like we're going to a business meeting.

Here are pictures from yesterday.
